The AC/DC is one of the most famous bands in the world. This is an Australian band that was formed back in 1973. Malcolm and Angus Young were the ones who formed the band. They are brothers. Their genre is considered as hard rock. In Australia, they are the pioneers of heavy metal. However, according to them, they are just a rock and roll band. Their gross in the music industry is one of the highest of all times. They have a lot of changes in members before they released their first album. Their first album was called High Voltage. This was released during 1975. In 1977, their bassist who used to be Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams. Bon Scott, who was the lead singer and one of the writers of the band died while in the process of recording the album called highway to Hell. When he died the band wanted to disband. Fortunately, the parents of Scott encouraged them to look for a new vocalist and continue with the band. The former singer of Geordie Brian Johnson auditioned for the vocalist slot and was accepted. Later on, the band released their new album Back in Black. This was the highest selling album of the band and this was also the second highest selling album of all time.

The band made more albums after the Back to Black album. The next album they made was, “For Those About to Rock We Salute You.” This was the first album of the band that successfully reached the number one spot in the United States. However, their popularity went down during 1983 when they fired their drummer Phil Rudd and was replaced by Simon Wright. Fortunately, the band became very popular again in the 1990s as they released their album called “The Razor Edge.” The Ballbreaker album was released in 1995 with Phil Rudd back in the picture. He also helped in making this album. The line up of the band remains the same ever since. They released another album in 2000 called “Stiff Upper Lip.” Their latest studio album was released on 2008. This album was called Black Ice. This album gained massive success as it hits the number one spot in almost all of the charts all over the world.

At present, they have already sold 200 million albums. Their Iron Man 2 soundtrack was also a massive success selling 71 million albums in the USA alone. Back in Black was the second highest selling album in the world next to Michael Jackson’s thriller. AC/DC is one of the most famous band in the world and they are proudly Australian.
